abstract = "This paper assesses the use of airborne videography, integrated to
CCD/CBERS2 imagery to identify human population presence in a
frontier region in the Brazilian Amazon. The study site comprises
the road that connected the Xingu and Iriri River, in the state of
Par{\'a}-Brazil, submitted to a recent and dynamic occupation
process. The images from videography and oblique photographs
containing construction types as indication of inhabitants were
selected and spatialized as point occurrences with geographical
coordinates. Based on area and density of the constructions
observed, we proposed a simple typology to hierarchically
distinguish the constructions types. A cluster analyses, based on
nearest neighbor hierarchical spatial clustering was applied over
these points of occurrence, weighted by the typology proposed.
This analysis identified features of human settlement pattern
comparable to previous work. The use of CCD/CBERS2 image to
identify the human settlements was verified, considering the
constrains and advantages in using videography image data.",
